I am on chapter 6 in the Hunger Games. Katniss and Peeta have just entered the city circle on a chariot. A text to text connection I have with the book so far is with Fahrenheit 451. Both Fahrenheit 451 and the Hunger Games are distopian and have over powerful governments. Also both of the protagonists are trying to make a change while facing both mental and physical obstacles.
A text to world connection I found is the French revolution. Both the capitol and the first estate, a social class mostly made up of powerful church officials, oppress and bring fear to the ones below them. The capitol restricts and forces labor while the first estate forces labor and taxes heavily.
A text to self connection a have with the hunger games is that both Katniss and I take advantage of luxuries. Katniss will not pass up food and will use hot water when given the opportunity and I also take advantage by showering and eating when I please. The difference is I am accustomed to these luxuries while Katniss is experiencing these for the first time. How you read the Hunger Games? What Text to self connections do you have?

Why I chose The Hunger Games
I am reading the Hunger Games and am currently on chapter four. One of the main reasons I chose this book is because every one who has read it which is pretty much every one says they like and I have not yet read it so I thought I might as well give it a shot. Also I have seen the movie and wanted insight on the cut parts as well as the deeper meaning that the movie didn't portray like theme. Another reason is every one said the book was better then the movie and I wanted to see for myself. A major reason that i wanted to read it is I like distopian societies as well as survival books. Finally because like distopian societies good reads recommended it.These are the major reasons I picked to read the Hunger Games. Have you read the Hunger Games? Why or Why not?
Fahrehrit 451
I have just finished part two of Fahrenheit 451.one of my favorite things about this book is it is structured in such a way that you never stop wandering but still satisfied with answers that they reveled before. It is also enjoyable because for me it is the perfect level of difficulty because it is deep and is worded differently to make it challenge but i am not going to the dictionary every other sentence to look words up. Not only is it structured well but has many conflicts including a deep man vs self conflict which is with out a doubt the most important conflict in the book. Because it well structured and has many good conflicts it has a good plot. The plot is easy to follow but still has unexpected twists. Over all there is not just one thing I like about the book but many that intertwine together that make this book great. If you were writing this what would you say was your favorite thing is about Fahrenheit 451.

Blog reflection
This blog meets the slandered requirements of theme and
analysis. I clearly stated the theme when I said “The theme in the maze runner
is one must be daring and try the unexpected in order to achieve ones goal.”
Also I describe why this is the theme in many occasions by giving evidence from
the text like “their only way out was something they'd never expected.
Something terrifying. He was crushed with despair." After I gave examples
I would analyze the text or tell why this relates to the post. Finally I
summarized what I read so for in a short paragraph just like the rubric said.
A goal I am making for next trimesters blog is to read a
more challenging book as well as more than one book. For writing I plan to post
every week instead of procrastinating also my goal is to make more meaning full
post and analyze better. I could improve my reading by reading more and by trying to figure out words before I
look them up. I could improve upon my writing by using more vocab words as well
as elaborating on my exploration.
